Originating from a former subsidiary of a telecommunications group, SBE was created in April 1987. From the start, the company decided to capitalise on its long industrial expertise in the electronics sector by providing the major telecommunications manufacturers and network operators with maintenance services.

In 1996, SBE set up its first overseas subsidiary in the UK (Ashford in Kent) to cater for the needs of its UK client base. Since then, SBE (UK) Ltd has been able to capitalise on the expertise of its parent company and carries out repair activities with consistently high levels of quality and service.

Over the last 5 years, SBE (UK) Ltd has grown at a fast pace thanks to its efficient organisation and investment policy into new technologies. SBE (UK) Ltd is now a key service centre in the fields of repair, refurbishment and after-sales logistics.

SBE (UK) Ltd currently handles the repair and refurbishment of 10,000 products per month, and is ramping up to a capacity of 20,000 products per month thanks to the relocation into brand new premises in February 2001.

With the UK operation clearly set as a blueprint for further European expansion, the emergence of similar sites in the rest of Europe seems little more than a matter of time (e.g. projects in Eastern Europe and Southern Europe).
